That is why, in addition to conducting our own work as a way of engaging positively in society, we also support some initiatives for people’s dignity.
Doctors Without Borders — Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999. It is an international humanitarian organization established in France, in 1971, by young doctors and journalists. Since then, MSF has brought healthcare to people affected by armed conflicts, natural disasters, humanitarian actions, epidemics, malnutrition or having no access to health care. In addition, the organization seeks to draw attention to the difficulties faced by people served by their projects, affording exposure to realities that must not remain neglected. Reasons for the alliance: a relevant cause, is strictly audited, with a strong global impact, without a financer authorized to interfere in the entity’s strategies; not linked to States or Corporations, and whose direction is exclusively composed of technical members, with no political ties.
Centro Infantil Boldrini is a philanthropic hospital specializing in oncology and pediatric hematology which currently has a cancer cure rate of 80%. Of a private and non-profit character, the institution is one of municipal, state and federal public utility, and therefore belongs to the community. The focus on teaching and research aims at the improvement and customization of treatment, seeking more effective results and increasing the chances for cures. Reasons for the alliance: a relevant cause is strictly audited, with a strong domestic impact, without a financer authorized to interfere in the entity’s strategies, and with no political ties.
Association for Assistance to Disabled Children (AACD in Portuguese) is a medical and multidisciplinary support institution for people with Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injury, Acquired Brain Injury, Congenital Malformation and amputees. Reasons for the alliance: a relevant cause, has focused strategies for autonomy and empowerment of patients, a strong domestic impact, without a financer authorized to interfere in the entity's strategy, and with no political ties.
VAZ DE ALMEIDA ADVOGADOS also does discreet actions of solidarity and initiatives in the «Cura Personalis» format: confidential actions that «look at the real person» and their substantial needs. The company does not receive designations to do so, but can share its actions with people and organizations effectively willing to collaborate, as long as there is no public disclosure.
